Spa Hotel Knyaz Pavel is located in the town of Pavel Banya, located in the Kazanlak Rose Valley, in the vicinity of Tundja River.

The newly found hotel is a comfortable place both for resting and relaxation on one hand, and for business events on the other. Knyaz Pavel has 160 beds in 70 twin rooms and 10 suites. All premises are furnished with telephone, TV sets, and minibars. Available to the visitors are two restaurants – main one with 160 seats, and an A la carte restaurant with 80 seats. The hotel features a lobby bar with 50 seats, as well as two conference rooms with 50 and 160 seats, respectively, with a screen, flipchart, and a projector.

Knyaz Pavel has a mineral water pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, solarium, a massage room, and a gym.

The hotel is located in an area rich in mineral waters springing from a total of 7 natural sources. Water temperature in some of them may reach up to 63°С. The waters successfully cure inflammations, chronic rheumatism, arthritis, post traumatic and orthopaedic conditions, Bechterew’s syndrome, and others. Particularly good results are achieved in curing distortions resulting from diseases of the spine and of the peripheral nervous system, intervertabral disc diseases, and central nervous system diseases.

Area

Pavel Banya municipality is located in the western part of the Rose Valley, between the Stara Planina mountain and Sredna Gora mountain. Its land plots include 117 138 decares of arable land and 28 000 hectares of forest areas.

Pavel Banya’s main natural resources are the two mineral wells. The clean groundwater provides water supply not only to the municipality, but to Kazanlak and Stara Zagora as well, and its capacity is not fully put to use.

The naturally hot spring waters are of fundamental importance to the Municipality’s economy and have been utilized because of their curative properties back in the Roman times.

The Stara Planina mountain chain, with its natural beauty and clean air, is also attracting tourists. The National Park Central Balkan mountain, which offers picturesque routes for mountain tourism, is located in the easter part of the Stara Planina mountain.

All these valuable preconditions are particularly auspicious to the development of tourism in the municipality.

The specific natural features are suitable for breeding not only cereals but also oil bearing roses and other oilseed plants, as well as herbs – lavender, spearmint, valerian, salvia. The climate is also favourable for breeding strawberries, raspberries, walnuts, and hazelnuts.

Town of Pavel Banya (4000 residents, 350 m above sea level) is 185 km away from Sofia, 22 km from Kazanlak, 86 km from Plovdiv, and east of the famous Rose Valley. The town is a spa centre of national and international significance.

Dabravata locality is two kilometres west of Pavel Banya. This place has a proven positive effect on the heart, the coronary system, and the lungs.

Two kilometres south of Pavel Banya is the Spring, whose waters have the best effect on the secretory system.

The home of Chudomir is located in the Turia village, and the nearby Tarnicheni village features a branch of the Kazanlak Art Gallery.

10 km to the south, on the road to Plovdiv, you can see a rare natural phenomenon, the only fuscicular yoke-elm in the country, now 160 years old.

Pavel Banya is a starting point of various tourist itineraries in Stara Planina mountain and Sredna Gora mountain.

Spa

Pavel Banya’s largest natural wealth are the curative mineral waters. They spring from 7 natural sources, with the water temperature in some of them reaching up to 63°С. Most contain fluoride and are low on mineral content. The high fluoride and metasilicone acid content, as well as the hot temperature significantly help cure joint problems.

They successfully cure inflammations, chronic rheumatism, arthritis, post traumatic and orthopaedic conditions, Bechterew’s syndrome, innate problems with the pelvic joints. It is particularly effective in curing distortions resulting from diseases of the spine and of the peripheral nervous system, any type of invertebral disc diseases, and central nervous system diseases, gynaecological problems.

History

Historical data about the settlement are scarce. During excavations remains of a Roman bath and an old Christian church were discovered, evidence that the mineral waters were actively used back in the times of the Roman empire. Pavel Banya is a relatively new settlement. It was founded after Bulgaria’s liberation from Turkish yoke by settlers from the neighbouring Turia village. There were some ten major families, which settled at the Bath. They form several hamlets, which gradually developed into the Pavel Banya village. Due to the national wealth – the mineral water – the little village prospered, some resort compounds sprang up and in 1979 it became a town.

Transportation

Every hour buses travel to and from Kazanlak, there are bus lines to Sofia, Plovdiv, Russe, Sevlievo, Stara Zagora. The bus station is in the very town centre, while the railway station is 4.5 km away.

Eight fast trains and 10 passenger trains in the Sofia-Karlovo-Bourgas line stop at the Pavel Banya station.
